Houthis about to find out why we don’t have universal healthcare

“We did find out! It turns out that it’s because you’re a failed state that only exists to funnel money to the wealthy. So much so, that even your trillion dollar military is largely non-functional and ineffective, much less your human services. So, y’know, now that you know you should probably do something about that.”

I do have to say the article is still crap and exposes how ignorant the west still is about Yemen. The same reason they didn’t see it coming, they are ignorant and proud.

Almost overnight, a militant movement in the remote badlands of Yemen

What they refer to as “remote badlands” is Yemen’s richest, most fertile and most populous region (90% of the population living there).

Not to mentions high civilisation existed there when their own cities were remote wilderness.

Oh yeah, anybody who’ve been following the war that the Saudis were waging on Yemen would know that more air strikes weren’t going to accomplish anything.

The article talks about how Ansar Allah have gained popularity in recent years, partly due to their opposition to Saudi Arabia and their support for the Palestinian cause.

They have recently launched attacks on ships in the Red Sea, which is a vital waterway for global trade. These attacks have disrupted shipping for western countries. This made them a major player in the Middle East. This raised concerns about the future of trade for western countries since their costs for shipping have jumped dramatically. The west is scrambling to find a way to resolve the conflict in Yemen and prevent further escalation in the Red Sea.

They also discuss the complex history of the Ansar Allah movement and their relationship with other groups in the region, including Iran and Saudi Arabia. The article ends with a question about how the west should respond since so far they have no clear plan how to go forward from here.

Building on this, Ansar Allah are incredibly competent. They managed to stop US-SA aggression against Yemen by developing ways to hit oil related targets in Saudi Arabia, once they showed their capabilities SA immediately stopped the bombing.

Now the ship disruption proves that they understand how the world works and they hit where it hurts. They’ve done more for Palestine than the rest of the world combined.

So I’m out of the loop, but have the “houthis” destroyed or damaged a nato military vessel yet? I’ve heard about “disruption of shipments”, but that could simply mean “insurance companies refuse to cover goods on this route”

Afaik not, but NATO send a lot of ships there and they did nothing while the losses to what they protect are mounting every day as shipping is forced to go around Africa. Paper tiger is paper, it was shown in Ukraine, but only by proxy and now the most powerful navies of an essentially ocean-centered military pact can’t do shit about tiny country attacking the most vulnerable target: profits.

Pardon my cynical mind but there are reasons to believe that the US wants the shipping routes disrupted to accelerate the deindustrialization of Europe.

That’s not to say that the US Navy could get the situation under control if they wanted to, but the US certainly couldn’t care less and actually benefits more from making goods much, much more expensive for Europe.

Europe yes, but that also result in substantial losses to US based shipping and to Israel economy and they can’t have that because the interest groups are moving.

The plundering of Europe is going to recoup all that losses, with many more times to spare. Again, I think people are missing the forest for the trees here.

I mean… all Europe has to do is condemn Isreal and take the nessessary steps to oppose genocide. The US is in alot deeper shit and are going to find it exponentially more difficult to exploit the global south

Europe needs the dollar now more than ever. I don’t think people understand how important is the European dependence for the USD these days.

There is no way that Europe is going to sacrifice their ability to get dollars for Palestinian lives. Zero chance.
