Lawmakers from the party of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán have boycotted an emergency session of parliament where a vote was scheduled to place Sweden’s bid to join NATO on the legislative agenda
The Swedes should be grateful if anything, but I imagine their response is typical lib outrage instead. All this has shown (as always) the reality of “Nordic neutrality” though- officially NATO or not, does it matter all that much when that is considered?
Interestingly, I recall seeing that Sweden is kinda split on NATO, and in particular younger people largely oppose joining it. This was one of the reasons they didn’t do a referendum on this. It was too important a thing to let the unwashed masses decide on.
