Thanos from the MCU was made more evil than the comic books. Ideologically committed to eliminating half of all life meant to be an indisputably evil character to make the “heroes” look like good guys.

Fascists: I wish I could be as awesome as that guy.

I think Liz from True Anon made a good point about this. Thanos’s underlying premise is never said to be wrong. Like when he kills half of a planet’s population, it actually works to mitigate starvation and deprivation on the planet. Malthusian over-population theory has been thoroughly debunked and dismissed. The underlying message is like “it would work but its morally wrong.” No it wouldn’t fucking work, deprivation in an advanced society isn’t caused by over population, it’s caused by class rule.

I always thought Thanos’ plan was so fucking dumb because it’s not fucking overpopulation it’s overexploitation. Besides you kill 50% of the population, now you have less people being able to make society properly function. Stupidest fucking shit in the entire fucking world.

At least in the comics he wanted to impress Death, instead of doing something thinking you have noble intentions.

Well, some revolutionaries did, at least in their own countries.
