I recently got into making stickers and want to put them up places people will see them. I feel like I’ll get caught or it will be taken down. Places with lots of stickers won’t be places that new ones get noticed necessarily, though I will be putting a hammsick up at a local anarchist-y place. I don’t want to waste my hard work on something that will be removed. That Hamas logo is a masterpiece. I want to be able to say, like MC Ren, “I’m sneaky as fuck when it comes to crime.” Help.

I bought a big pack of “free Palestine” stickers, and I put them in bathroom stalls when I’m out.

It’s pretty low-risk, and I don’t really mind if they get taken off. The message still gets out there with minimal cost and effort.

I always leave some of the backing on, tho. I don’t want to make the cleaner’s life hard.

I heard that political ads are most effective when they are in bathrooms, because people look at them because they dont have anything else too look at other than the door.

And also because of the location, most people aren’t as likely to scratch it off. I mean, would YOU scratch off a sticker in a bathroom? I wouldn’t

That’s a good idea. The thing is, I don’t really want to buy them when I can make my own, but when I make my own they take more work. I think I might try some stronger adhesive and assume street cleaners won’t get flack for it.

If you want your sticker to stay, spray the sticky side with a spray adhesive like E6000 prior to sticking it. That adhesive is stronger than any sticker.

Also, CrimeThinc’s Recipes for Disaster has some pretty good ideas in it.

Thanks, I’ve been using clear packing tape, which is very easy to remove. I’ll have to look into that book. I love adventurism/hj

As someone who did urban exploring in the past, my advice would be to 1. plan your route, and 2. stake out your location. Go on google maps and plan out where you’re going to place the sticker, how you’re going to get there, and how you’re going to get out.

There will be hours during the day (or night) when there’s going to be less people around, or no people around. And similarly, there’s going to be times of the day when it’s going to be packed. For example, industrial areas will mostly be empty at night. Parks will mostly be empty during weekdays.

When it’s busy, you’d want to walk around and take note of any cameras or automated security / surveillance, as well as the demographic and their dress. Only when there’s no people, you’ll want to plant the sticker. You want to avoid being in the area when there’s a sparse amount of people there, because then you’ll stand out.

Park farther away, and walk. What’s worse than someone having record of your face, is having record of your car or your license plate. I recall that when exploring an abandoned hospital that was being used as a police training ground, I went at 2AM during a Monday, parked 1 km away and cut through a small forest to get there. I didn’t see a single person.

That makes sense, I don’t plan to invest too much time soon, so I just plant them on my way to school if there’s no one around. Idk how to get it where people will see them though, without being obvious, or spending my free time. Someone recommended bathrooms, but I avoid public ones generally.

If you’re scared of getting caught, print smaller stickers. That way you can remove the back in your pocket, palm the sticker, lean on a wall/window to check your shoe for example, and continue walking.

The point is just to not draw unnecessary attention to yourself by doing anything out of the ordinary. Pickpockets should be a good source of inspiration since they also work in high traffic areas while being unnoticed.

If you get caught, just run! What are they gonna do?

I spray painted a palestinian flag downtown when al-aqsa started. It was right by a busy intersection despite past midnight (why i chose the spot of course!), i just faked out and pretended i was walking everytime a car came by. Construction workers came around the bend halfway through and i said “fuck it” and just rushed to finish. They laughed at me and continued their work. No cops showed up but if they did, i could have ran on foot and been inaccessible within a block.

Yes, some stickers will get torn down. That’s the cost. If you want extra protection perhaps a layer of clear spraypaint or something similar, like nail polish or clear glue.

Yeah I just mean in trouble with my school if I do it there. I saw my sticker that said “Hamas did nothing wrong” in a place where lots of people walk got torn down, hope someone saw it. I decided I’m going to make more stickers reusing ones from things from the store and just use some paint marker on it. That way it’s simple and not a waste if it gets removed. i hope i can get some strong glue or something eventually.
