Ive readed some stuff on A-H and its last kaiser, and he wanted to get the country out of the war an federalise the kingdom, and to resolve the multi ethnicity problem of A-H by giving every ethnicity in the empire their own state. While A-H was an imperialist mess of a kingdom that was based mainly on the habsburg royal family, it was one of the only countries, along with Yuguslavia that was able of keeping the balkans together.

And it was one of the countries that kept the world multipolar, we all can agree that having a single anglo country on control of the entire world is bad (it already happened 2 times) and having multiple countries balancing eachother is way better; Germany kept france, A-H and Russia on check, A-H kept Italy, the ottomans, Russia and germany on Check, the Ottomans kept Russia, A-H, Italy, the UK and France on check. The central powers where bad countries, but so was the rest of the main powers in the world, they where needed to keep each other from getting to powerfull.

Do you think something good could haved comed out of Otto project? Or A-H existance as an coutry was doomed from the start? Would the world have been better if multipolarity was able to survive ww1?

A few major problems. First, the noble houses of Europe didn’t want to be federalized. And then you have the much larger problem of how to resolve ethnicity to any degree of satisfaction. What about all the families that intermarried with other ethnic groups? This happens quite a lot as adolescent humans are want to go date the people their parents told them not to. Anytime you try to draw a border along these lines, you inevitably create conflict. Would WW2 have looked different if the Kaiser had succeeded? Sure. Would it still have happened, absolutely yes.

The German empire did help at some extent the bolshevicks because they wanted Russia out of the war, Lenin even met the Kaiser during that time. I dont think the central powers would have supported the polish revolt and would help them in the civil war (because they have polish territory themselves), so the western part of the war would be more in the bolshevicks side, i dont know well enough about the central and east front of the civil war, but it would probably be just like normal civil war.
