I get the impression that the dems basically gambled everything on the offensive, they built it up in the media, scavenged whatever they could, and it was supposed to get some big results and then the media would run with it. Joe would win the election riding on having defeated Russia and saved the free world.

Instead it failed in the most spectacular way possible, and they don’t really have any cards left to play now. They can’t convince Russia to freeze the conflict until after the elections, and it’s likely Russia will go on an offensive of their own come winter. So there could be a collapse in Ukraine happening as the election season heats up.

Seems like throwing Biden under the bus is the only move they have left in that situation. You all of a sudden discover that Biden has a lot of business dealings in Ukraine, that he may be compromised, and that he has a big conflict of interest running the war. Blame it all on him and hope you can distance the party from the debacle somehow.

The real question whom the dems will float as a replacement since they don’t have a single candidate that’s known or liked at this point. Perhaps they try to pump up Newsom?

They’d probably put up Kamala to lose on purpose since anyone to the left of “Standard Democrat” is poison to the party. So yeah, hoist up Kamala, watch her lose spectacularly, then blame it on Republicans being racist and sexist.

The more I think about it…

Biden represents the last acceptable Democrat on all fronts, and that’s mostly because of Obama. Which is weird to think about. I think you’re first paragraph infers a greater point: there’s no one sitting on the bench that can satisfy the party apparatus while garnering any mainstream appeal.

Conversely, Trump is the only widespread acceptable Republican and frankly, that’s because he’s not a Republican.

Post 2024 is going to be wild.

Post 2024 is going to be wild.

I have a prediction — the Republicans will accelerate usage of leftist talking points as textbook fascism does, and will gain popularity as these points are legitimate (obviously) but there’s no real left party allowed. We’re seeing a little of this with them being the only ones having reasonable Russia-Ukraine takes.

Interesting, I’ve mostly noticed a big push to declare that the economy is “doing great, actually” (dems are always the most condescending assholes) and that its because of Biden. We will see how this plays out I guess

I definitely expect that this is the start of the end of NATO and likely the EU. Europeans will see that they got used, and their economic situation is going to keep getting worse. Countries will have to prioritize domestic economies, and that’s going to be completely at odds with what EU will be demanding.

On the other hand, whoever replaces the current talking head wax dummy would still be a part of the same establishment. Still a loyal servant of the capitalist class, still a warmonger and a death-dealer

Even if he wins the 24’ election he will almost certainly not live to complete the term, but this election will be difficult for him, during his term in addition to not fulfilling any promises of the previous campaign, the general situation of the American population it only got worse, this will negatively affect his chances and the Ukraine war gets as said by you if they lose or the situation gets much worse for them during the campaign it will be another point against Biden.

Oh no they’ve already hopped in with biden in the long run, way too much has been invested into this guy. He really is the perfect candidate for a MICIMATT puppet, he’ll stay in as long as it takes, even if it harms long-term planning. Trump is also out of the picture, he’ll not win or even run in the elections, that’s guaranteed.

Ukraine is another dozzy for the establishment but ultimately they’ll stick with ukraine until its invertible demise, from then I don’t know what will happen, my hopeful guess is the yanks get their arse kicked out of the region for good, and peace will be signed. Ukraine will still be slave to western corporations and NGOs, but no military bases will be on its soil.

“The real question whom the dems will float as a replacement since they don’t have a single candidate that’s known or liked at this point. Perhaps they try to pump up Newsom?”

Good question, no one knows, even the establishment doesn’t know, and I have a feeling in the future politicians wouldn’t want to be presidents, since there’s nothing but humiliation and defeat in store for the yanks, being the president will just make you the fall guy, since all power is behind the throne anyway, who even wants to be in the spotlight?

While I agree that they’re hugely invested in Biden, the problem is that his mental decline appears to be progressing very rapidly. If you look at clips of him today compared to even a year ago, the difference is striking. He just might not be physically fit to go through another election campaign. Then there’s the whole impeachment inquiry which will almost certainly find some dirt, the collapse in Ukraine, the failing economy, and so on. It’s going to be a perfect shit storm right as the election cycle heats up.

That said, it’s certainly possible that they just run him anyways because they don’t have anyone else. However, given that we are seeing more and more articles coming out in liberal outlets like WSJ and NYT, I think that’s a strong indication that there is a powerful faction within the party that doesn’t want him to run.
