that looks like it goes straight onto the highway? Damn you guys are built different. In Germany there’s giant signs telling bicycle riders and e-scooters to fuck off if they get even remotely close to any Highway-like street (Kraftfahrstraßen, Autobahn, etc). Instead they’ll path you through a forest with paths so beaten up that you have to pray your tire doesnt implode and you get catapulted into the trees. But at least no cars. Just dodge the wild boars and have some lights at night and u good

Bike lanes in the US are such a sham lol, I use the sidewalk as much as possible, rarely use the bike lanes. In those bike lanes there really is no separating between you and death, and as people continue to drive around with their big trucks and whatnot, you might as well just die. Biking in the US is a total nightmare.

THANK YOU!! I bike semi-frequently and plenty of my friends bike too, they all make a huge fuss about using bike lanes, first off, you have so many bad drivers on the road, I don’t trust every single driver’s ability to not hit me, secondly, you have to bike fast as hell, and third, some bike lanes become regular roads that bikes are allowed on, it’s not safe for me as a bicyclist, and annoying as hell for everyone driving behind my bike which is super slow compared to cars. I use sidewalks and ride on the grass when a pedestrian walks on the sidewalk, I hate bike lanes
