Something something… gets upset about /pol/ brigading lemmy.ml but complains about getting banned on /r/antiwork for nearly the same thing

There’s no evidence of any brigading, anarchist mods are banning people for being different kinds of leftists from them. That’s what’s happening there.

There is plenty of evidence. Just try to accept for once that your dear ML comrades can be pretty obnoxious at times (as can Anarchists ofc.).

A ML takeover of /r/antiwork is a bad idea in anyway you can look at it, even from the perspective of MLs. ML is a total fringe movement in the US, where /r/antiwork seems to have the most momentum. In fact years and years of capitalist propaganda has turned anything “communist” into a boogy-man that will turn away most people interested in /r/antiwork otherwise.

Strategically it is better to leave this in anarchist hands and stop pushing ML propaganda into /r/antiwork. I am sure people would be also much more willing to cooperate if the ML side wasn’t so pushy about it.

First, the whole notion of a takeover is a straw man. Second, exposing people to effective means of organizing and having an actual theory of change would be the real value. If it just ends up being a place where people moan about their jobs being awful and telling each other that they just need a better job, all it does is perpetuate the status quo.

Meanwhile, the same people who are claiming that MLs are being pushy are perfectly fine collaborating with nazis social democrats, and liberals. It’s quite telling that only MLs who are seen as a problem since they’re the only group that actually provides a way out.

Even if the takeover is incomplete, a sufficient number of MLs mansplaining something about the “dictatorship of the proletariat” or some other such non-sense will be a sure way to kill any momentum /r/antiwork has in the US right now.

/r/antwork is not anywhere near a place where effective organizing can take place; it’s mostly about showing people that there are a lot of other like-minded ones and that they can “stick it to the man” if they have sufficient numbers.

And those social democrats and liberals are at least not brigading other places and acting against their own interests while doing so.

This type of argument is precisely the sectarianism I’m talking about. Anarchists single out a particular group of leftists and say that they can’t participate. If people are behaving poorly, then moderators should deal with that on case by case basis as is done on plenty of other big subreddits. If somebody starts mansplaining then they can be deal with, and it certainly shouldn’t be restricted to MLs. Moderators siding with right wingers and liberals against other leftists just turns the whole thing into opportunism.

It’s also utterly false that social democrats and right wing trolls are not brigading. They absolutely are, but I guess anarchists see them as kindred spirits.

There’s already a scientific method for doing this that hundreds of millions of people in the global south have used to materially benefit their lives, it’s called Marxism-Leninism

Solidarity with people who want to kill anarchists or at the very least shove us in gulags if they ever take power? No thanks

Nobody wants to kill you or shove your ass in a gulag. The most MLs have asked of you is to read a fucking book for once in your life.

Go ask the average ML if they want to kill anarchists or at the very least shove us in gulags.

I’m so tired of seeing these straw man arguments made about ML, and I’m not even a ML. People like you would rather be stuck in the past and scared of a modern boogeyman that doesn’t even exist than accept that modern MLs and anarchists don’t possess the same animosity that MLs and anarchists had long ago.

You’re not even making compelling arguments here-- you’re just referencing conflicts that happened long ago and conveniently omitting the fact that the overwhelming majority of MLs and anarchists would rather work together despite their differences than kill or imprison each other.

People like you weird me out because it’s like you desperately want there to be violent animosity between MLs and anarchists just so you can smugly say "SEE?! I told ya so!" and it really makes me wonder where your priorities are, or if you just view all of this as team sports with rivalries from a time before you were even born.

Cut this shit out and focus on worker solidarity. I’m so sick and tired of people like you trying to drive a wedge between MLs and anarchists in such a contrived way-- grow up.

Lol, anarchists would do the same to communists because the way in which each group tries to achieve communism is inherently different and is dangerous to each other. If anarchists somehow achieve anarchism they would massacre every last one of the communist because it threatens with anarchism, if communists achieve socialism they would kill anarchists because it threatens the dictatorship of the proletariat.
