      Well, to be fair, lead is very slow-killing, so it’s hard to find out it’s toxic. Even modern societies used lead in children’s toys until recently.

          PFAS are probably worse. Microplastics are relatively inert. Ofc we have other issues like arsenic in rice.

        Also, while it was not the best idea to use lead for the pipes, their water was also very hard and all those pipes quickly started building up limestone on the inside, thus costing the pipes and preventing much lead from getting into the water. So the kind of got lucky with that.

      Lol I’ve lived in two apartments now that had mandated lead paint warnings for residents. More things change and all that shit.
