The neighborhoods of Sheikh Maksud, Ashrafiya, and Shikif in Aleppo are under heavy bombardment by Hayat Tahrir al-Sham. Artillery fire in the area intensified as of the morning hours.

The Western media is saying this is between the SDF and Jolani (Kurds stabbed in the back after being loyal servants of the empire as usual), but I’m not sure if there are other factions as well.

The media seems to be taking The side of Jolani and Türkiya, which falls in line with the state department policy up until now, however I’m not sure what level of support the SDF still gets from the US.

I hope that a genuine anti-imperialist faction can rise with these conditions and remove NATO influence from Syria.

There’s a 2 NATO country that literally invaded Syria Isn’treal from the south Turkiye from the north and Jolani himself is supported by NATO

That’s sorta my point. The entire country has been occupied by NATO aligned forces. The SDF, HTS, and Israel, are all NATO aligned factions, so I’m not really sure what their fighting will bring about. Is one if then gonna win out completely in the end or will they weaken eachother enough to the point that an anti-imperialist force can arise?

I think USA do not particularly care which of its puppet come on top as long as they fulfill their basic purpose: create chaos in the region, and this is what they do.

I don’t think that SDF is completely a puppet but a partner. Not a member of NATO like Isn’treal and Turkiye

The SDF’s occupation of Syrian oil and wheat are, in my view, the most relevant factor to the destruction of Syria today. By depriving Bashar of Syria’s resources, they paved the way for the conditions which brought about the events of Dec 2024, such as the large scale bribery of the Syrian Arab Army.

Partner or direct vassel, they acted entirely to the benifet of empire. Their “libertarian socialist” project is a joke. Now they’re going to be left to dry by the empire against the Daesh terrorists that the west used as an excuse to support them.

Indeed. But, the SDF has an anti-imperialist stance, isn’t it?

Anti-imperialism is based on action, and all the SDF has done is occupy a Global South country and allow the US to rape it of its resources in exchange for weapons.

They can proclaim their “Democratic Confederarlism” is actually a socialist, anti-imperialist ideology, but if they do nothing to control their key resources (oil and gas), instead allowing it to be used at the leisure of the US, then I don’t frankly believe in their stated commitments.

Before, it was the War on Syria.

Not it is truly… a Syrian Civil War.

I don’t recognize the war that happened during the coalitionist government led by the Ba’athists as being the Syrian Civil War.

Before, it was the War on Syria, to me.

The Syrian Civil War has begun recently, especially with these attacks.

It’s very complicated and touchy. US is okay with Jolani and Turkiye as long as both sides are listening to big brother and buys from them but SDF has many US bases within its controlled area and getting targeted by Turkiye and Jolani and of course Isn’treal.
