Think about it. NATO is saying Russia is losing against Ukraine, but has to keep sending equipment. Then, for the third or fourth time, with the latest being a few days ago, they’ve refused Ukraine’s entry into NATO (but have accepted Finland) without giving a reason.

Yet they’ve been holding NATO membership over Ukraine for more than a year now, since it was a reason for the war to begin. And a year later, time and time again, NATO says Ukraine will not be joining NATO.

Why would they not give a reason? If Ukraine joins NATO and demands article 5, NATO countries will have to follow and deploy troops – including the US.

Even Zelensky is confused lol, surely he can’t be this delusional.

If the reason was “Ukraine doesn’t need NATO to help to win”, they would say so. If the reason was “Ukraine cannot join yet due to being at war”, they would say so.

The only reason they wouldn’t give a reason is because they actually don’t want to fight against Russia. Half of the countries in NATO barely have an army. Only the US would really put up a fight, and pretty much all “volunteers” that went there didn’t go back for a second tour. US only has experience against technologically-impaired opponents; as soon as missiles start striking their positions and their comms are jammed, they scatter.

If you still think ukraine is going to be winning this by getting nato’s mismatched refuse equipment, you better not change your line in 12 months when Russia comes out victorious of the peace deal and pretend you always knew this was going to happen. You better carry your support through to the end and for the rest of your life.

I feel like we are 20, maybe 30 years away from communism, even shorter if the climate crisis forces more radical changes everywhere.

Most of the world is not even working towards a transition to socialism (actively fighting against it actually), let alone communism lmao.

China, the most developed nation with an explicit marxist-leninist party, is still decades away to even begin the transition to communism. The sad truth is that we are centuries away, as a species, from achieving communism.

Material conditions are shifting that way whether there capitalists like it or not. It’s getting to the point where there isn’t a choice. The world wasn’t ready in 1917. It is now.

I wouldn’t say the world is ready so much as it is out of other choices. The more hand-wringing people do while the quality of life and the environment very quickly degrades around them, the harder it is for them to continue asking “what is to be done” and subsequently ignore the socialists when they pose answers to those questions. It takes a lot of pressure to overcome the constant neoliberal and anticommunist propaganda for most people.

The only way that the world is more ready for socialism is that the world is quickly becoming more desperate than before. We need it now more than ever before and I personally feel it is likely too late to prevent widespread suffering from just the effects of capitalism on the climate alone.

Edit: sorry, my reading comprehension isn’t all there right now. I just realized I was agreeing with you, but with way the fuck too many words.

I think you mean socialism. I don’t think we’ll see communism soon. Lol

Depends how you define it. Communism as the real movement of abolishing the existing state of things? It’s happening within my lifetime unless I get hit by lightning. The Anglo European powers are on their last legs. They have no solutions and no drive to consider them. Their politicians keep doing the same tired old shit, thinking they can be as ‘great’ as their heroes, incapable of realising that history has happened.

In the meantime, the oppressed majority is turning away from the west. It’s been waiting a long time to pivot. When there’s a chance to detach from the west, they will do so. And China will be there to help.

We might even learn that when China says ‘socialism by 2050’, it’s fully expecting this to be on a world scale. That’s what proper socialism would entail, so it follows logically.

Thus communism inside 30 years. When the majority in the world take it upon themselves to transition away from capitalism. It’s either that or let the imperialists burn you alive—a reality that becomes clearer by the day.
