We’ve approved I don’t know how many new comrades here since the announcement that Reddit will kill its API access.

If you don’t know where to start posting on lemmygrad, this is a good thread to start in! You can also ask questions you have about federation or our instance.

Welcome!

The current lore is:

We are all feds on lemmygrad, but you get to choose your agency.

I have noticed the ridiculous amount of libs while poking around other instances. Lemmygrad is a shining beacon of hope. When I first discovered Lemmy and the Fediverse, my first thought was I had to find a Marxist instance to call home. Hopefully most comrades go through the same thought process when making the switch.

Similar situation with Mastodon. Once you find an instance that’s quick to ban the garbage, it’s a great time, but until that point it can be a bit frustrating.

Any examples? I tried going to mastodon, to see what’s the fuss was all about, and the main page was a bunch of pro-Ukraine propaganda, intermixed with generic lib stuff

Don’t just go to the main instance and find other groups and communities on there so you can customize your feed and following.

Mastodon is great, but it takes awhile; it’s also far less toxic than Twitter.

is there an ML mastodon instance? I wasn’t able to find one, so I settled down on .social and just manually filtered out lib hashtags (annoying).

I haven’t found one yet and I don’t think there is (yet).

But if I could, I’d make one ASAP.
