If in a packed railway station, someone could just start quickly sticking random people with the bulk of a crowd not noticing right away. And the ones that do see it or are trying to get away get blocked by the rest of the folks that are just focused on getting where they need to be. Guns are just the weapons that get the most media attention in the media (especially Western media at least).
