    What sort of argument is this? Enough with the appeal to popularity fallacies. Facts are not based on what nationality or ethnicity you are, but on objective economic and material conditions, and to suggest otherwise is to be a crypto-Fascist.

    My (and most of the Socialist movement) conclusion regarding the economic mode of production of China and other countries is based on objective facts which are available to me. Be it in the form of economic data and such. I don’t have to be of a particular nationality to understand that an specific economy has most of its economy under private control, has the profit motive in place, is imperialist (by the Marxist definition), and so on. By your chauvinistic reasoning, every single country on Earth, including the United States and other similar countries, cannot be criticised because “YOU aren’t from there”.

    I am free to conclude what economic system a country is based upon the objective information I receive, that is a foundational aspect of Marxism. I care largely on the development of a revolutionary movement in my own country, and that requires a struggle against revisionism in my local Communist movement as well. If you want to defend a government and its policies, argue with actual facts, and not logical fallacies.

      Besides, most of the Chinese economy is not under private control. They are subject to very strict regulations, and the share of GDP between the private and state sector in the major of provinces of China is close to 50-50. The majority of Chinese enterprises in the Forbes Top 100 are state-owned. The state enterprises are not all moved by profit, and the major strategic companies of the country, such as mining, electrical grid, military, communication, financial, petroleum and gas, are all state owned.

      And even “private” enterprises in China are different. They are under strict regulation and even direction of the Communist Party of China. The CPC has political influence over the major corporations, and their direction influence only increases, e.g., by buying shares, or by organizing party branches inside private enteprises, among other tactics

      But if someone from within China bases an argument on information that is unavailable outside of China or in English?

        The only main point I can recall off the top of my head without digging for old posts is the Chinese user said that Hoxha started calling Mao a revisionist when China stopped sending Albania money.
