Communist Party of the Philippines founding chairman Jose Maria “Joma” Sison, who has been in self-exile in the Netherlands, has passed away. He was 83.
Sison’s a weird one. Ostensibly supported the DPRK and has said PPW is not universal. Most Maoists in the imperial core have denounced him and the CPP for being revisionist because of that. I know little about the party in the modern day beyond this, and that they/he have said negative things about Chinese influence in the Philippines.

It’s worth noting that the Philippines does have multiple ‘legal’ Marxist-Leninist parties that do stuff. I don’t know much about them.
