Are these all port employees? There doesn’t look to be many. Is it just how many people work there?

No lol, it’s just a picture of a picket line. There are 8500 dockworkers and the entire port employs 140k people.

Out of all the dockworkers, two small companies were working today. The Union went to talk to them and got them to lay down their work. The only people working in the port today are people that have to guide ships into the port, for safety reasons. But their cargo will not be taken care of today. Most of those 140k people are on strike or not working. The strike is split up in picket lines at the companies, so there is no large group to take pictures of, outside of some rallies in cities.
