On Telegram you don’t get “news” in the sense of articles like what you see on world news. You get short messages with photos and videos updated by the minute, when do bombings start, operations being carried out. For example when the whole Prigozhin thing happened, I was constantly being updated while the mainstream media released articles hours after some important thing I already knew.
