while I agree with the widespread general consensus that had NATO not aggressively spread Eastward since the collapse of the Soviet Union, this likely would not have occurred, Putin and his party which holds a massive majority in the Duma are in fact imperialists. Just like NATO.
This is a war between two imperialist entities over rights to a nation held by actual Nazis. Basically none of the fighters are fighting to represent the working class except maybe, maybe the LPR and DPR. That said, while I am currently supportive of those specific movements, I am not convinced they aren’t being co-opted by Putin for his own agenda and being turned into puppets.
Siding with NATO is wrong. Siding with the Russian government is wrong. Siding with the Ukrainian government is wrong.
The victims are the working class people of Ukraine, Russia, and to a lesser extent in this context, even the working class people of NATO member states.
Ukrainian working people are being bombed. Russian working people are being thrust into further economic crisis. North American and European working people are straining under ever increasing costs of living.
Working people are fighting working people and killing working people while rich oligarchs on all side rake in the dough.
Taking sides in this war that isn’t the side of the global working class is not a Marxist position. Rooting on Russia or Ukraine or NATO is further dividing the working class.
The best thing we can all do is… praxis. If you are a working class member of a NATO state, go out and agitate. If you are a working class member in Russia, go out and agitate. If you are a working class member of Ukraine, well for now survive. Then agitate.
Fuck Biden and his international cabal. Fuck Putin. Fuck Zelensky.
I am not OP but…
