A lot of gamers will be buying it just for playing games and nothing else, and use it like a console

another statistical analysis with a currency conversion squeezed in there somewhere
PPP does take account for currency conversion, and actually PPP is a currency conversion method, just not the market currency conversion.
But it’s not free from flaws, it says PPP adjusted according to 2017, I don’t think it makes an accurate comparison from 1994 to 2024 with just one year’s PPP rate

Because the west got dementia. They change their opinions as soon as the mainstream media does.

Why so much downvotes. Streaming services doesn’t provide higher quality streams on linux distros, it’s common knowledge. Widevine L3 is supported by browser and that’s what running when someone streams netflix, disney+ or anything on a browser, firefox or chrome, in linux. Almost all streaming services provide 720p with Widevine L3. On the other hand, 1080p and higher are only available in widevine L1, which has to built into the kernal and certified by Google. Nobody should it’s working when the stream is 720p and even 480p sometimes.
And linux kernal WILL NOT BE DOING THAT. The OP doesn’t even blame linux for this, they explicitly say to blame streaming services.
Widevine L3, which does not provide high quality streams.
Btw recently many big names are coming out of China, both in games and animes/donghuas. Lord of the Mysteries and To Be Hero X animations have been very well received even among purist weeb spaces. Big new games, which are not mobile gacha, is being announced every month now. An example would be Blood message which received enough traction when the trailer dropped. Along with recent shift in public view of China after the rednote incident, it looks like 2025 may mark the start of chinese soft power in pop culture. The rest depends on CPC policy, and what they envision.
