Decades of propaganda telling people that US is an unstoppable juggernaut can do wonders. A lot of people currently believe that Russians are getting their ass kicked in Ukraine too.

None of these weapons were ever meant to actually be used in a real war against a peer competitor. These are mostly just money making grifts for funnelling taxes into the pockets of the oligarchs who own the war industry.
