Do you know any good, Marxist texts analyzing racism in Europe? Or texts about racism that are generally applicable? The vast majority that I found are about racism in the United States, or about colonised countries.
Edit: I am mainly thinking about the conditions of racialised people living in Europe, not so much about imperialism.
I would like to find works on the Roma from a Marxist perspective myself.
I think W.E.B. DuBois does talk about this at some length, but again, he’s mostly focusing on either North America or Africa (the latter of which partly has to do with Europe, of course).
Fanon was French so maybe one of his books? Have not read them yet though.
Yes I came across Fanon, but from what I can see on wikipedia, he writes mainly colonization, I’m not sure whether that is applicable to mainland Europe.
I’ve only read wretched of the earth, but ya its not about Europe. I haven’t finished a book by Hobsbawm yet, but he’s a Marxist historian, and I’d bet that his long 19th century trilogy has a lot of the inter-european race-struggles.
Unfortunately none of the chapter titles of those books sound like they would be relevant. But let me know if you come across something.
600 pages’ worth of Marx and Engels on Ireland https://archive.org/details/marxengelsireland
Wouldnt that be mainly about colonialism at that time? Is there any specific chapter that is relevant?
