adCap is grindy and boring after a certain point, making u need to buy boosts.

      AdCom is a lootbox bonanza

I played the capitalist one more during a depressive episode, but my main complaint is that everything grinds to a halt after a while because the exponents in price increases are way off. The whole game seems to be balanced towards giving you a quick start then boring you to death to get you to buy boosts that are not even that good in the first place. Comparing to other more competent idle games like Universal Paperclips, you can see how the “fun” factor was not included in those 2. It’s great AuDHD trap though, which is how I got stuck in it.

Fuck AdCap. Play Antimatter Dimensions. It’s a different type of idler but it makes my brain go burrrrr. And you don’t need to spend money unless you wanna support the dev.

Quick heads up before you jump in. The Android version doesn’t have the final update as it’s a port by another dev. The Web and Steam versions are complete. This is important because the “5 hour” update effectively triples the amount of game there is. I am playing on the Steam version and have 1,072 hours clocked and am “almost” done. I am right before the final set of mechanics in the final section of the game and probably have another 100 hours or so.

That said, the Android version still took me about 3 months to get to the end. The game is surprisingly big for an idler and it’s not anything like the Cookie Clicker or Kittens Games style ones. If you can get past the first prestige though, and still like it, you should be good.

There used to be a guide on reddit but that got taken down after the update. There is a cheat sheet guide there still for major stuck points. Or the discord has pins for every game layer that will help.

Cookie Clicker is a classic and was my gateway idle game. I haven’t checked out PokeClicker. Realm Grinder, NGU, Idle To Rule The Gods, Universal Paperclips, A Dark Room, and Kittens Game are also some off the top of my head worth mentioning. If AD scratches that itch, I’d also rec Prestige Tree and maybe Synergism. Although Synergism gets way convoluted. Prestige Tree is relatively short for an idler and has an actual end so like there are timewalls but no real burnout so it’s kind of nice.

I’ve spent many hours in both (don’t anymore though). It’s weird how adcom is just exponential growth in production even though the point of socialism is to distribute according to need, but I guess socialism can’t be portrayed by this type of idle game even though it could hypothetically by another model. Also, as someone else said, way too many loot boxes.
