Western media failed to adapt to the world where the west can’t simply dictate terms to other countries. All these articles rest on the assumption that Russia can simply be forced to do what the west wants. We see similar bafflement with China and the whole overproduction narrative as if China is supposed to just restructure the economy to make it easier for the west to compete.

I actualy read something not that long ago that decided to just redefine terms so that “china is winning but not that much” part of the evidence being that some companies are moving production to Vietnam, and if that happens on mass all that is doing is setting Vietnam up to be in the same postion with the west China is in right now
They cannot comprehend the idea of losing. It just doesn’t compute in their minds. They cannot imagine a reality in which backwards, barbaric Russia dictates terms to the civilized, all-powerful collective West.
They live in a world where the only thing that really matters is the narrative, so when reality is at odds with the constructed narrative they choose to ignore reality. Because the narrative is more real than reality.
It is solipsism on a civilizational level.

This has been what russia has wonted sense they have been forced to make it a prolonged war… ever sense Ukrain violated the Minsk accords… like this is not an unreasonable request … I feel like the west does not understand Russia could make far greater demands
