What happened?
Lots of instances got created then promptly died since the reddit thing. But the low number at the end there seems to be some sort of bug of it reporting instances from the 30th of June before such day had arrived for most instances. Right now the latest number is back at a more normal 250.
hypotesis: people got mad about complexity (yes, it is not ready for everyone yet) or got sad about absence of content.
Looks more like a bug, in my opinion. O.o
Or purge of bots. Strange!
The HeavyLemmy is dead
likely has to do with the new lemmy version breaking backwards compatibility on apps. jerboa users couldn’t even log in until v.35 after the lemmy update, and some instances haven’t updated yet thus cannot be viewed by users with jerboa v.35
