I would completely agree, if it were anywhere else but China. China is a bad actor, and represents an unprecedented threat and risk toward the United States’ security and it’s people. Congress should be acting and moving toward banning China from the American business and consumer market, and US multinationals should be accelerating their decoupling from China.

Two wrongs don’t make a right. This is just a race to the bottom now. This will become even more common and i’d imagine China will go even more on the offence.

Eh. China has been part of the WTO since 2000 and has been given nearly 20 years to liberalize its markets. It hasn’t happened. Instead they lock out most foreign competitors while taking advantage of outside markets. It’s not going to change on its own. In this case, I’m not particularly against hardball.

China, a powerful communist and near dictatorial government. TikTok poses a threat in which it collects a ton of data form users. You may say “well, so does Google, Facebook, Amazon… even Apple and Microsoft”. Sure, but they aren’t required to share said data with the US government. TikTok, however, does have to share it if the Chinese government asks. Additionally, China’s banned Amazon, Google, and Facebook (to name a few). The TikTok ban’s been in effect since last year when the Army banned it. This is a continuation, and people are naïve enough to believe it’s just a “Trump” thing, yet companies like Amazon and Apple have told employees to uninstall it, too.

Its sad that the only people on the right side there, are arguing from equally ignorant positions like constitutionalism.

“I don’t hate the people, but the government need a math calculation: them, rope, and tall trees”

translation: “I’m not racist, but wouldn’t it be funny if we lynched those POC?”
