You’re arguing with a Belarusian… who’s family has lived in the country for hundreds of years… that you understand Belarusian politics and economics better then them.
Also that random bit about the philosophy textbook is complete nonsense. He doesn’t give any specifics, and what he said doesn’t mean anything.
Belarus has the highest standard of living of any post-Soviet state, has a strong state industry making farm machinery and is more self-sufficient when it comes to food than European countries.
At least you recognise your bias and you must know that since you live it is impossible for you to be objective like an outsider can. I’m not saying your experience is not valid, it is, it’s just silly to assume that everything you think/feel about Belarus is absolutely 100% correct and that anybody who hasn’t been born and lived in Belarus can’t possibly know anything about Belarus.
