if somebody has the time and the mental ability to sit through this video, i wanna know what the verdict was.

Obvi, in reality, the USSR was a union. Each of the SRs had their own government, made their own decisions, and had the right to petition to leave the Union at will. But anti-communists hate that the USSR had such a fair system, so HM will probably quote directly from those “historians”.

Meanwhile in the UK, If we want to even hold the referendum on whether we want to leave the union, we must get permission from the central government in London. And they’ll only say yes if they’re certain the result will be to remain.

It peddled a double genocide-esque view that Stalin hated the Poles and Balts and sent ethnic Russians to settle there

Literally nobody did so much for Poland as Stalin, at least in the last 500 years or so. Hell the direct effect of actions ascribed to Stalin by Polish historians would make him the greatest and most successful Polish nationalist in history of Polish nationalism.

Could this have more to du with WW2? Nah Stalin was just evil. These youtubers are terminally stupid.

  • Can anyone recommend any good books or writings on the formation of the SR’s that either directly or indirectly addresses the question of whether USSR was an empire? Just curious. Thanks!
