I was just in a sprint retrospective with my team. We started with one of those corporate “fun” “ice breaker” things with a question of who you’d like to spend a day with. The scrum master went on for several minutes about how she’d like to spend the day with Alexy Navalny because he’s the “only opposition to Putin”. It was only a few minutes, but it was a very concentrated dose of liberalism.
Can relate deeply. The IT field it seems is especially flooded with the worst kind of libs.
A good number of my coworkers have been IT techbros, who do landlording on the side. Absolutely unbearable people to be around.
Sometimes I think ‘well it’s to be expected in STEM fields because they don’t study politics so they aren’t to know’. And then I remember all the people in politics, economics, law, social sciences, humanities, etc. They should know better. Yet somehow…
“The same Navalny that was to right wing for that one right wing party? The Navalny who wants to shoot muslims? That one?”
Yes, that one.
“Ah. Weird. Not gonna kink shame. But weird.”
Well tbf most libs also want to shoot Muslims. They just try to act like they care about them while they do it.
That’s part of why we can never stop learning and never stop teaching.
My current libshit experience is working with a bunch of east Germans who are very proud of how exploited they are in free united capitalist Germany.
Sometimes I get through to some of them, and then they cut off the disussion with something like “well, we can’t solve all the world’s problems so whatever really.”
It is our struggle, we are like Guts from Berserk but instead of fighting demons every night and day, we have to deal with liberal propaganda night and day.
