The State of Israel is a self-proclaimed Jewish state and a country in the Middle East. It is currently the only country with a Jewish majority population. Although once an ancient Bible-era civilization, Israel ceased to exist after being conquered by various empires and only re-emerged as a sovereign entity in 1948. The re-establishment of a Jewish state was the historical goal of Zionism. Despite many of their neighbors disliking them, they still exist with the help of western powers.

Basically, I posted to this so we can dunk on Zionists harder for calling us antisemites.

    It says that you specifically criticize the Israeli government. I’m Palestinian and all I hear is “Palestinians this or Palestinians that” funny how attacking a people is never racism but saying Israel somehow is. Also what about non-Jews? As expected RationalWiki pretends they don’t exist.

    Well there are definitely anti-semites who dislike Israel solely for being a Jewish state. That being said the list, which is sourced from a Washington Post article, mixes legitimate and illegitimate criticisms. Like “seeing an international Jewish conspiracy” is definitely anti-semitic. But “rejecting Jewish history” is a bit ambiguous because Zionist organisations have pushed falsehoods into mainstream historiography to assert a historical Jewish right to the land. Norman Finkelstein was blacklisted for debunking one such historical study.
