There is a good book partially related to this subject titled Italian Colonialism, which not only discusses Fascist colonialism but also the continuities between it and liberal colonialism. Fascist Italy inherited Eritrea, Libya, Somalia, and the Dodecanese Islands from the liberal era, so they already had quite a bit of their work cut out for them, and this along with other variants of European colonialism would become important sources of inspiration for the Third Reich.

I’ve discussed before how the enmity between Great Britain and the Third Reich were actually late developments in their relationship, and they could have been allies if London agreed to it. But there is still quite a lot left to say about the subject. Fascist interest specifically in the British colonization of India is something that I’d like to research soon:

After lunch, Halifax brought up his experiences as viceroy of India, where he had urged a policy of conciliation. [Adolf Schicklgruber], who had just related how Lives of a Bengal Lancer was his favorite film, and compulsory viewing for the SS to show “how a superior race must behave,” rudely interrupted him.
    “Shoot Gandhi!”
A startled Halifax fell silent, as [Schicklgruber] went into a rant:
“Shoot Gandhi! And if that does not suffice to reduce them to submission, shoot a dozen leading members of Congress; and if that does not suffice, shoot 200 and so on until order is established.”
