Yeah, unfortunately teeth and eyes (maybe ears too) are not covered in our healthcare system, so you either pay out of pocket or get private insurance to cover all or part of it…. It’s incredibly stupid
iirc, in our last election 95-97% of Canadians supported expanding healthcare to dental and optical across all parties, even most Conservatives supported improving our healthcare system, but we’re a capitalist democracy so… predictable things happened.

Yeah I remember something like that. The NDP had their dental care plan that I believe is in the process of being implemented
Looks like it just started today. https://www.ctvnews.ca/health/a-national-dental-care-benefit-is-now-law-here-s-who-is-eligible-1.6157800 Seems to be very watered down, with a lot of caveats. So a far cry from real universal coverage. But at least it’s something I suppose.
