They stopped counting deaths. So I’d assume that has something to do with the slow erosion of public health safety regulations during COVID. They’ve been trying to sweep it under the rug since the start of the year I think.
If anything could be proof that US capitalism is a death cult, it would be the US COVID response. Just the amount of absolute disdain for human life, and people literally saying millions dying is a small sacrifice to pay for “freedom” (Meaning; Being able to go to the Applebee’s and not being told to wear a mask). The amount of indoctrination and propaganda you have to be fed to believe that your “freedom” to do whatever the fuck you want is more important than someone else’s life is just nuts. I don’t want to hear anything at all from libs and conservatives about how people are brainwashed in socialist countries when we have to put up with this.
I assume you mean libertarians?
what the? what are you referring to?
I don’t want to hear anything at all from libs and conservatives about how people are brainwashed in socialist countries when we have to put up with this.
I don’t think “libs=liberals” makes sense in this sentence, liberals tend to be in favour of democratic socialism and social justice
“libs=libertarians” makes way more sense (to me), because libertarians and conservatives work together to vote for right-wing parties, and right-wing politicians are always screeching about how bad socialism/communism is
Liberals are explicitly not socialist; they prioritize individual rights over collective rights (including the right for an individual to own private property and to exploit the labour of others) and typically just want capitalism with a safety net
I think another thing that confuses me here is the use of the phrase “own the libs” by right-aligned communities, what is meant by this phrase?
They seem to have no idea what “liberal” actually means (“conservatives” in a capitalist country are just another type of liberal), so they use the term to refer to the type of liberal who cares (or, for many politicians, pretend to care) about social rights
Thanks, I was a little confused about liberalism and the way it relates to libertarianism
I think I often consider liberalism and social liberalism to be closer than they actually are

“Some of you may die, but that is a sacrifice we are willing to make.”
Covid has been a godsend for the US government in helping them eliminate some of the surplus population, mainly the elderly who are a drain on public health resources from their point of view.

This was before the economic crisis. Many places have already paused hiring in response to the recession, which a huge blow to the negotiating power of workers.
Also covid didn’t kill many working age people. The primary victims were older people who were outside the workforce anyway.
Guess I’ll die
Chicken tendies are worth it
“There’s no problem. Continue as you were. Non compliance is forbidden.”
I feel bad for my not shitty USian friends.
