He never went along with Roger Waters anti imperialist stance, one of the reasons he didn’t colaborate as much with The Wall and The Final Cut (the last PF albums with Roger) was because it was indirectly critical of western imperial hegemony. Gilmour’s a Labour liberal, sadly.
