Just thought i’d make a post because there’s no posts here and to celebrate/wallow in the fact i have to play this part.

For non-clarinet players the fingering for (altissimo) high E and high A are the same so you have to use a kinda goofy alternate fingering and it is pain.

      For each state(in my case michigan) they have a program where high school students can audition into a band/orchestra. It’s like once a year and then if you’re selected you go to a place and rehearse then play a concert.

      I auditioned on clarinet and got second chair(my friend got first lol)

        Thanks. Is there more prestige associated with for exmaple the first chair compared to the second?

          Yeah there’s 24 chairs total for clarinet in michigan. The higher the chair, the better you did.
