Lmao, Houthis with a fraction of the resources are way more effective and heroic. No fan fiction about them. Hey what skin color are the Houthis again? Nevermind probably not related.

Literally this, the Houthis are blockaded from all sides. To get weapons from Iran (their main backer) they need to smuggle them through US puppet government controlled ports and territory and also hide them from the numerous Al Qaeda/ISIS type militias that do road checkpoints along the desertic roads. And yet, they have managed to shoot rockets at fucking Dubai. Meanwhile the “heroic ukrainians” have basically infinite weapons from NATO and easy supply routes straight from the EU, and yet have achieved nothing besides hitting a few civilian areas in Donbass, Crimea and Rostov (very heroic i know). They are probably the most ineffective military in the world when you take resources into account lol

Military themed games in general have absolutely atrocious communities in my experience and some of the people playing them don’t even bother to hide the fact that they’re just there to roleplay their shitty fascist fantasies.

100%, I’ve seen guild members in some of these games modding in flags of the confederacy as well as fascist Germany/Japan…

I’ve put way too many hours in WW2 games and clan members with SS tags in their names and pictures of German soldiers as avatars who always play Axis and leave if they get autobalanced were an absolutely common occurrence across multiple servers. Disgusting, but it at least felt satisfying sneaking up behind their ranks and shoving a bayonet between their ribs while they’re hogging an MG42 and jerking off to their kill feed.

Don’t forget many combat simmers are military oriented or straight up militarists and we know where that audience is politically inclined. I can assure you that in Russian milsim circles we do have all ranges of people, with quite many being connected to government or military forces one way or another.

Still, in the communities (Russian, obviously) where I play we have a hard ban on any Ukraine-related scenarios for a multitude of reasons. At least we have decency NOT TO hype our shit on the ongoing bloody war.

Source: I’m a milsimmer myself, hello there.

Arma series (Zeus operations). DCS World. From something more casual - Squad (rarely), Hell Let Loose (even more rarely), Project Reality (for a change). Played Post Scriptum a while ago. Also spent lots of time in many other sims, like Dangerous Waters, Silent Hunter, modded Cold Waters, civil aviation sims (Prepar3D, MSFS, X-Plane), you name it.

That’s why I actually know Grim Reapers. They are just your average hype-loving YouTube fuckers. They’ll be popping out whatever content can get most views. Including shit like you’ve witnessed. They are not politically active or anything. Just your regular Murican crowd.
