its kinda reassuring in some fucked up way, that not even the current conflict that is being fed to liberals about ukraine could possibly get a lib to look at occupied palestine in a different perspective. nah business as usual. some times i feel real crazy like maybe i’m just seeing it all so wrong, how could so many people believe all this.
That’s exactly how I thought. However, it is important in my view to keep in mind it’s not just libs being libs. Libs can see the light if the information is available to them and I know this because I have managed to explain to them my view and they in the end ended up agreeing.
What we’re seeing is a mixture of libs’ passive racial biases and very powerful state control over social media.
Over the first week, every single comment I made on reddit comparing the behavior of Russians and Americans on r/aboringdystopia, and r/latestagecapitalism gets hundreds of upvotes and then suddenly magically disappears before more people see it. Mods remove them without providing a reason. On r/worldnews where previously you could criticize America and have many people voice the same concerns, now suddenly anyone voicing any criticism towards America is downvoted to oblivion almost instantly, extremely likely by astroturfers who are focusing on r/worldnews.
The only place you can criticize United States and your comment staying is r/genzedong and lo and behold, r/genzedong gets quarantined by the admins and even that isn’t enough they remove most mods from their position and sticky changes from “Fuck da Police” to “Guys, police are doing their best UwU”.
And now after a month of doing this, you can see libs completely lost their mind, openly glorifying Nazi atrocities and displaying blatant racial hatred not only towards Russians but also towards people of West Asia as well. This is not just libs being libs, it’s a state actor going on a massive campaign of brainwashing.
Any lib who doesn’t play along will get censored and kicked out of the most popular platforms (facebook, twitter, and reddit are participants in this) and will be driven either towards communists or far right where firstly they are not heard by as many people anymore and secondly can be silenced using “appeal to rule of law” justifications if necessary.
