It must be pointed out that banning BBC World News has nothing to do with freedom of the press. Does the so-called freedom of the press the West advocates mean media outlets are free to produce lies and launch politically motivated suppression against a target while being immune from any punishments? If so, China doesn’t need such freedom of the press. The Western media has no moral high ground to criticize China over freedom of the press.
this is such a satisfying follow-up to cgtn’s broadcasting license being revoked by the uk
I notice China is finally ramping up the retaliation since 2020. Gone are the days where they have to bow their heads and accept whatever criticism the rich europeans yelled at them. China has come out of covid mostly unscathed and is shifting the worldwide order, and they realize they are now strong enough to say “no” to their former colonial masters. I’m sure they’ve been waiting for that day for a long time.
You love to see it.
BBC: lies about China having concentration camps, refuses to correct stories.
China: Okay ur banned then.
BBC:
Dont forget that UK banned CGTN first.
So the UK isn’t complaining about this since they JUST banned one of China’s official news outlets, right? RIGHT?!
Surely not, that would by hypocritical. And the UK is NEVER hypocritical.
