    I find it pretty sus to blame the rats. At the time Europe was poor people mashed together in closed quarters basically living in their on filth and feces.

    Blaming rats for the plague is like blaming a corner store for selling cigarettes if you get lung cancer from smoking

    Rats might be little shits who eat the fruits of our labour sometimes but their contribution to the spread of black death was much less significant than humans themselves.

    Fleas and lice on the other hand get the wall, same as any parasite that can’t be reformed.

    Seriously: People back then thought it was the spiders and that’s why to this day many westerners are afraid of spiders. I was passed on through the generations via nurture or epigenetics
