    as bad as it is, this is what reaches americans because this is how we’re taught from a young age to think.

    there will actually be people who were indifferent to all of this who read this tweet and realize “wait he’s right what am i getting out of all this?”

    its the wrong lesson to be taken away. its the wrong lesson to teach to begin with. but we live in a capitalist fascist dystopia so i will accept any means of making people question whats going on even if it ultimately leads them in another (less harmful) ideological position

    There’s this odd thing social democrats do, where they act like imperialism is what prevents us from having free healthcare or college or parental leave. It’s the exact opposite, European social democracies were able to achieve those things because of imperialism. The empire creates jobs, creates export markets, provides cheap imports, provides plentiful resources for exploitation, displaces imperialized workers who are forced to work for low wages in the metropoles to provide remittances, prevents overseas competition, and ensures currency dominance. Social democracy is objectively the moderate wing of fascism.

    The US is a special case because its colonialism has always been turned inward. Colonized subjects within the US don’t get to benefit from imperialism, so no free healthcare or college. Instead, work sets you free and service guarantees citizenship. You only get to have healthcare or college or parental leave if you “deserve” it. The US doesn’t have a moderate wing of its fascism.

    You are not wrong, but I’ll settle for Bernie over the loon anytime. Let’s be real here, any wiff of communism is mentioned to the masses will go right through anyone’s mind just as ‘commie bad’. Western propaganda has been very effective. I hate people here just pretending this little social bubble is anything but a niche, that most don’t care about.

    This is off topic but with a little mutual aid group I do on Mondays I got into it with another member who was going off on “China bad, China = authoritarian” nonsense. Without getting into the weeds too much at one point she said that rather than China she would rather live in a socialist country like they have in Europe and I just about raged out. What no theory does to MFer. Western “leftists” libs really think social democracy is socialism and that socialism is fascism, she really called China fascist.

    How do we even get through to these people that socialism isn’t about social welfare but actually about workers control over the means of production? I swear to god some of these people think socialism begins and ends at the state giving out free shit

    Obviously the mission is mutual aid and China is more than capable of defending itself without me but my fucking god, last night I heard it all, Uigher genocide, brainwashed masses too scared to disapprove of the state, wage slavery, African debt trap, China is the real fascists, Western Europe is the real socialists, Chinese billionaires, China authoritarian, Chinese have no freedom, “my white American friend moved to China and moved back after a few years because it was suffocating” as if the Peoples Republic exists to cater to the sensibilities of white Americans immigrants.

    Makes me wanna pull my hair out talking politics with “leftists” libs. At least we can agree on the work that needs to be done in the near term but I need to convince these people to read theory. Anarchist, ML, anything other than this Berniecrat redditor lib shit

      Just throw the term White Man’s Burden in this person’s face because they’re exactly what it describes. Instead of Christianity, it’s “religious freedom.” Instead of civilization, it’s “democracy.” China rejects this because these same excuses were used to justify a Century of Humiliation.

      Straight-up call that person out as a white supremacist who thinks non-whites can’t think for or govern themselves.
