The movie Parasite is an excellent critique of liberal ideology. The characters in the movie are all fundamentally good people who are rational actors acting in their own best interest. These people are led to commit unspeakable atrocities due to the systemic pressures they're exposed to.
The fundamental fallacy of liberalism is that it focuses on individualism while ignoring the systemic context that guides individual action.
To me the movie point is ‘poor people are selfish, rich people can afford to be kind but they selfish when it matters’. Its not that deep really, but it is a really entertaining movie. We should stop trying to look for meaning when there isnt any.
