    Did he pay a cancellation fee or something? You can’t just stop honoring a contract midway through it like that, generally. I’m not licensed in Canada, this isn’t legal advice, but I’d recommend you look into that.

      If you share a kitchen and/or bathroom with the landlord then it’s not covered under the RTA and you have barely any rights. All he owes me is “reasonable notice” and 60 days is more than enough according to my legal counsel. All I can do is ask for more time, and if he won’t then get my counsel to call him and ask for more, or stand my ground and make him evict me through the proper channels to buy time if I can’t find something.
