      it’s honestly so weird that americans feel like they can call out other countries for cult of personalities when the founding fathers are a thing. even the term itself is so fucking weird as a foreigner.

        projection like this is quintessential to the fascist propaganda strategy. “we’re not fascist, we’re national socialists; the socialists are the real fascists.” “we’re not interfering with your democracy the russians are” “we’re not terrorists; any civilians we kill are designated post-mortem as terrorists” etc. it’s ubiquitous in the american worldview.

        antifascists are fascists, elected representatives are dictators, popular revolutions are coups. you’re not brainwashed, anyone who challenges what we tell you is. the most blatant and simplistic tactic for manipulation of public perception is one of the most incredibly effective.
