Sorry but I cant find any clear definition of this “cultural genocide” you speak of. For reference, here is the UN definition of genocide, and it explicitly states “Cultural destruction does not suffice, nor does an intention to simply disperse a group”.

I know that western media talks about a supposed “Uighur genocide” a lot, but I believe in the concept of “innocent until proven guilty”. And the only entity which can determine that is the United Nations, which they havent done as far as I know.

I am familiar with these kind of articles on China, there are new ones every day after all. And they are all similar, outrageous claims with very little proof, and if you follow that its usually entities which are financed by the United States or other western governments. Which is very convenient because those same countries seem to view China as an enemy. So I dont see these articles as real proof, but of course everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

Are you calling me media-illiterate and comparing me to a neonazi, or am I misunderstanding you? And I dont see what the USSR has to do with our discussion on China.

the extreme left and right is like a horseshoe

Horseshoe theory… I don’t even know where to begin.

Do you realize how much of your claims rely on Nazi or Nazi adjacent historians? The Holodomor was a crisis that was spun by Nazi’s in order to claim that the USSR had committed a genocide that was worse than the one the Nazi’s committed. It was not even called the Holodomor until the 1980s where far right historians spun the story of the famine of the 30s to equate it to the Holocaust in order to continue an era of anti-communist propaganda that both the US and many other western nations were spitting out by the hundreds.

You talk about media literacy like somehow we are unable to criticize western media for relying heavily on propagandized claims of stories that have been spun in order to make socialist thought of any kind seem immoral.

So all your comments were just so you could put me into a category of “bad tankie” or “decent person”? You never intended to have an actual discussion? You should have said so from the beginning, then I wouldnt have wasted my time responding to you.

Comparing communists to Nazi’s is a disgusting point of argument. You cannot compare the current Chinese state or their supporters with literal white supremacists who have no other drive than to create ethnostates that wipe out all identities that stray from normal.

If you genuinely believe that there is a moral equivalence to being a nazi and being a communist you have no clear bearings on history or the evidence history provides us to prove your claims false.

It suprises me that one of the main creators of Lemmy don’t acknowledge the cultural genocide of Uighurs.

“Bro just trust me bro be part of the cult like me please bro brofist promise!!!1!” Please do not make Lemmy another Reddit.
