I’m not so sure. He does/did seem to have connections but I really don’t have any evidence or enough knowledge to say for certain. Could just be typical rich guy shit having connections all over the place. I guess it’s possible given his polarization of the country and how he handled COVID, and if it happened would be one hilarious story, but I just have no evidence that makes me lean either way

Although he did do some seriously awful things, which I doubt China would endorse/allow to happen.
