Love this channel. I was fuckin agape seeing it featured recently on a “Top 10 SpOoOkiest YouTube Channels” type vid by Nick Crowley, obviously someone who usually does… horror and true crime content?

Now, as we know, the most dictatorial, evil regime in the world that feeds criminals to dogs and whose population fervently worships a bloodthirsty God Emperor, North Korea, has some problems… from human rights abuses to outright genocide… but it seems they’ve started a PR channel…
…especially concerning is how much everyone is smiling and how unrealistically optimistic their people seem to be, with their propaganda painting a picture of them as being one of the happiest, most rapidly advancing nations on earth…
It’s like weaponized defeatism. All the insidious western “-isms” - nihilism, orientalism, individualism, blatant racism, etc. etc. conglomerating into a uniquely Nietzchean man. In the mind of the western lib, there is no hope, no future, the world is shit. Any semblance of actual contentedness and optimism from a nation’s population must be due to extensive brainwashing and heavily doctored footage. New DPRK presenting positive examples of their modernization must only be because the people featured on the channel 1. are brainwashed, 2. are being paid to, or 3. are being forced to at gunpoint.
The fact that these people and their government are, ahem, Eastern and ruled by evil communists is of course a factor in the western lib’s thinking. The fact that westerners are starting to despise their governments en masse and are continuously, methodically exposed to exactly zero representations of the things humanity can achieve because the bourgeois dictatorship can’t provide them one is not. Therefore, any actually hopeful news coming out of Cuba, China, or the DPRK must be dismissed as state-sponsored propaganda obfuscating the truly miserable nature of their people.
Tangential but Nick Crowley did a similar spOoOoKy look at a Palestinian TV show “brainwashing” children into “believing” that Israelis were evil oppressors.

I highly doubt he’s on state payroll, but it’s becoming harder and harder not to feel absolutely paranoid that everyone and their mother is a fed anymore. Illuminaughti and Paper Will, both seemingly rather mundane content creators, felt the need at the same damn time to make smear videos against the DPRK. Why? Did these unrelated YouTubers collab? Did the Almighty Algorithm tell them that dissing Norf Korea was profitable at the time? All I’m sayin is the propaganda machine goes deep as fuck and it’s unsettling as hell to see this shit from true crime, horror, anti-corporate and video game YouTubers seemingly out of the blue.
