    It’s not “slipping away.” Slipping away assumes they had a chance in the first place. lol

      This. They could not have come close to having even a tiny chance of victory on the battlefield, and the US knew it all along.

      It’s like saying “the fish you’re after is slipping away!” when you’re at the beach with nothing but a fishing rod in your hand, the fish is 100 km from the coast line and the fish, it turns out, is a fucking 30-ton blue whale.
