The war in Ukraine changed a lot of things at once. What Lenin once described as decades happening in weeks. I personally think that it took both the war and the sanctions to reindustralize Russia, but once the war is over, will Russia still be as industrialized? I think the sanctions will force Russia to maintain local production of many things it can’t import anymore, for everything else they will probably import from China and others.
but once the war is over, will Russia still be as industrialized?
Their military production will definitely take a step down, since even if they would still expand their armed forces, there would be no need to replace war losses of equipment and ammo, but if they learned anything from the last 2 years, they will further invest in general industry.

In the past we used to get Russian cars in the Middle East, my grandfather had a Moskvitch. I wonder if that will ever happen again.
