I liked Mandos better when they were just cool guys in armor. Like Boba and Jango, but then Lucasfilm became aware of their fan favorite status and put them at the forefront of everything. Literally everything new we learn about them makes them look lamer and lamer. They went from asshole crusaders with a vague honorable backdrop to space samurai that have nothing but agreeable politics.

Less is more I feel.

They were never honorable, first one ever was Boba who hunted people for money without questions asked. Next one was Jango who sent millions of his biological sons to death in Clone War… Then it was KotOR where they waged horribly bloody war on everyone from sheer boredom, which also directly led to another bloody war soon after. Karen Traviss wrote basically all lore for them and they were still pretty bad, though as usual for people in decline they did not have the ability to cause such mayhem as during the Revan time, but still managed to do much with very small manpower. Overall they are the blight on the galaxy as absolutely warlike fash out there, and the Death Guard was just them going mask off.

Din Djarin is rare not bad Mando out there (Kal Skirata was also passable compared to most), because he bought seriously into entire honor thing and even he treats lives like grass often.

You’re right, Mandos are awful, only thing worse are Sith. They’re villains, that’s what they’ve always been: Cool bad guys. Which is why it’s so uncomfortable how hard they’ve gotten rehabilitated. Bo-Katan is a racist, genocidal terrorist, as we see in The Clone Wars, but now that she’s A Good Guy™, it’s all squaresys.

Bo-Katan is awful character, she totally seem like bad gal even in Mandalorian, and they even made her look decades younger than she should have be, probably to get some sympathy for her from the audience.
