This is not a discussion about if Iraq was better under him or U.S imperialism since it was obviously better under saddam and he shouldn’t have been dethroned. I am asking about your takes on Saddam since some considering him a fascist. I want Your thoughts what what justifies his action to you.
I mean he was anti-imperialist and stuff but Baath Party was anti-comm for sure. Check more on it from the Blowback Podcast Season 1

The Baath party regretted letting their revolution get to the point of armed conflict with the Communists. Later when they were betrayed by the Nassersists, they allied with the Communists and from then on had good terms. The Baath party grew closer with the USSR once they returned to power in the 60s and maintained the friendship.
I just learned of this history, but it sounds like the Iraqi Communist party had an issue with Dogmatism. The main disagreement between the Baath and the Comms were that the Comms supported Israel through the Comintern line, while the Baath immediately saw Israel as a colonial occupation. The Iraqi Communists also considered the Baath and Nassersists as bourgeois nationalists (for the Nasserists, fair criticism). I think the Baath consideration of reality was more correct, that Syria and Iraq were still in a primarily feudal stage of development and de-colonization was objectively more important than settling ideological differences amongst the anti-imperialists groups. “Workers, peasants, and oppressed peoples unite!”
That is a good point actually. Thank you for helping to keep things nuanced because it’s never good to boil things down to Good or Bad, which I am guilty of on occasion. Israel deserves zero support from the working class, we should definitely stand against Settler Colonialism at all costs
