In 1941 immediately after Germans occupied city local inhabitants did one of the worst pogroms of Jews ever. Really shitty place that should be plowed into something more useful like potato fields. Also no wonder polish chauvinists want it so much, they have innate ability to push themselves into worst politics possible.
